Theses

The theses of the previous cohorts are available here.

They are published after the graduation of their authors. However, the opinions expressed in those works are not the official position of NGPRD. They are displayed only as a contribution to the intellectual debates on education. Each author is responsible for his own ideas.

The theses cover a large array of topics. They consist in small-scale research projects, mostly case studies conducted within the strict boundaries of an academic year, with limited resources. However, they are rooted in the real practices of Cambodian teachers. As such, they might be of some use.

Here is a short selection of the best productions:

Sy Hong: Understanding the Workloads of Private Tutoring and Its Impacts on Grades 9 and 12 Teachers and Students in One Public Secondary School (mixed method)

Karim Kamel: Understanding Dropout Rates of Grade 7 Students in a High School in Kratie Province: Causes, Impacts, and Remedial Strategies (good data collection strategy)

Yung Muhun: Challenges Faced by Kindergarten Teachers in Managing Large Class Size: A Case Study in Kandal Province

High School (in Khmer)

Son Chanthirith: The Effect of Chemical Experiments on Learning Satisfaction of 10th-Grade Students (experimental research design)

Un Kimsie: Challenges in Learning Mathematics in Grade 10 Case Study: at Hun Sen Kampong Laeng High School (in Khmer, with clear descriptive statistics)
